Back Office Management Service
If you hold sales infrequently, we can even
come and manage the back-office for you, releasing your staff to
concentrate on the sale. We can send two experienced staff to
manage the computer/s, enter sale price details into the system, print
the sales invoices and handle the queries. Prices depend on where
you hold your sales and over how many days they run.

Gryphon have also developed the Valuation
Manager, a stand a lone software package for recording and printing
Insurance and Probate Valuations. Simple to use, Valuation Manager

AIMS - Standard Edition
(Fine Arts & Commercial)
Introduction
Gryphon Auctions Systems is the developer and publisher of the Auctioneers Information Management System (AIMS), the modern, back office
software solution for auctioneers of all types and sizes.
One of the most cost effective and efficient back office solutions for
busy auctioneers, AIMS has a proven track record of success in auction
houses of all sizes.
No auctioneer works in totally the
same way and so AIMS is very flexible, enabling most auctioneers to use it
straight from the box. However, it can also be customised to each
auctioneer's particular
requirements.
AIMS was custom designed with the needs of both small and large auctioneers in
mind. EASY to use, EASY to learn, AIMS is a powerful package, ideally
suited to those upgrading from manual or old DOS based systems.
Initially produced for a small general and fine art auctioneer based
in Clevedon, just south of Bristol, it has been progressively developed to meet the needs of ALL
types of auctioneer, including Fine Art, commercial and agricultural auctioneers.
There are now three versions:-
-
Fine Art - for Fine Art and General
auctioneers (suitable for those on the VAT Margin Scheme). Ideal for name based sales and Registered
buyer sales (where buyers retain the same number for each sale)
-
Commercial - for commercial auctioneers who
register buyers at each sale
-
AIMS Lite -
for the small auctioneer with a limited budget (revised for 2006)

Do you run a network?
You
do not have to run AIMS across a network, it will work on a stand-alone PC,
but if you do AIMS networking
capabilities are particularly strong!
The auctioneer can enter buyer details
and sale prices into a PC or Laptop on the rostrum and the the buyer's invoice can
then be printed in the office within
seconds of the hammer falling. Wireless networking technology greatly
simplifies this approach because salerooms no longer have to be wired up for
networking.
This approach reduces queues at
the cash desk, speeding up performance and improving the service for customers.
It also reduces the need for runners or porters to shuttle sheets from the
auctioneer to the cash desk, enabling them to concentrate on helping customers.
AIMS will run on any PC running Windows 95, 98,
ME, 2000, XP or
any Windows NT/2000/2003 network. The latest version is also optimised for
Tablet PCs.
Not only can we supply AIMS but we can
also provide a complete 'Turnkey' solution,
supplying and installing the necessary PCs, printers etc., AIMS software and training
in one convenient package.

Working with the Internet....
We believe that
one of the biggest challenges to auctioneers is to widen the buyer pool,
i.e. the number of people who buy at sales. One way of doing this is
to make the catalogue available to a far wider range of buyers, both
nationally and internationally.
We are, therefore, developing AIMS
with the Internet very much in mind. In particular we want to
simplify getting your sale catalogue onto the web (making it easy to
access and to use) and ease the management of on-line commission bids etc.
This
Sample Electronic Catalogue
is a fairly basic example of what we can
do. The catalogue and pictures can be uploaded very easily and
quickly from your own PC with little or no knowledge of the web.
We
design and manage web sites for a number of our AIMS users. Our
approach is to design simple, fast loading pages which encourage users to
come back time after time - visit
http://www.clevedon-salerooms.com to see what we can do..

Minimum Hardware/Software Requirement |
|
AIMS is written using Microsoft Access 2000/XP, the industry leading
database program for PCs. The minimum hardware requirement is
generally the same as for Microsoft Office.
As with all
database software, AIMS runs best on a fast PC with plenty of memory, the more the
merrier.
Minimum Hardware Requirement:
Pentium
III 500hz PC
with 256Mb of RAM running Windows 95 or better. Microsoft
Access 2000 or better.
Recommend
Hardware Requirement:
Pentium
4 Class PC with 512Mb of RAM and a 40gb hard drive with Microsoft Access
XP/2003
AIMS will run on a 10base network but will
benefit from the increased data through-put of a 10/100/1000 based network.
AIMS will also run very successfully on a Wireless Network.
Whilst AIMS can be supplied as a stand-a-lone product you will benefit from
greatly improved
functionality if you install Microsoft Office 2000/XP Professional on your PCs.
One client, an Agricultural Auctioneer,
frequently runs sales very successfully in a field using two elderly
networked laptop computers and a HP 6P laser printer, all propped up on a very
shaky table in a cramped and extremely elderly caravan - often in the pouring
rain.
